First Christmas without Emmy

The first Christmas without you has hurt my heart so much,
I wish Santa Claus had brought you back for me to stroke & touch.

I had no toys or snacks to wrap & no card to write this year
& not seeing your advent calendar next to mine made me shed a tear.

The fun of seeing you play with gifts was missing from the day,
Christmas will never be the same again now you have gone away.
